Waste Management and Bulky Waste

Waste Chutes

The waste chutes are closed indefinitely. Instead, temporary waste containers have been placed on the grass area in front of the church.
Please note: Only household waste may be disposed of in these containers.

It is strictly forbidden to leave waste next to the containers.

Packaging

Glass, metal, plastic, and paper/cardboard packaging should be taken to the nearest packaging collection station and sorted by material type. Do not leave any waste on the ground.

Paper for Recycling (advertising, newspapers)

Recycling paper should also be taken to the packaging collection stations.
Do not include envelopes, these should be placed in trash bags and disposed of as household waste.

Clothes, Shoes, and Textiles

Clothing collection bins are available nearby at Hagalundsgatan 11.

Electronic Waste

Small electrical appliances, batteries, and light bulbs can be disposed of either at the same locations as hazardous waste or bulky waste, or returned to stores that sell similar products.

Batteries

Batteries can be deposited in designated collection boxes at packaging stations or at the same locations as hazardous waste.

Hazardous Waste

Chemicals, mercury thermometers, containers with hazard symbols, etc., should be taken either to the same locations as bulky waste or to the environmental stations at OKQ8 Bergshamra or OKQ8 Solna Strand. Keys may be borrowed at the counter.

Medicines

Medicines should be returned to the nearest pharmacy. Do not flush or dispose of them elsewhere.

Bulky Waste

Large household items such as furniture, large toys, sacks, and boxes of non-hazardous waste can be left at certain designated locations in normal quantities. Residents are responsible for transporting this type of waste to the recycling location. It is strictly forbidden to leave or store such items in shared areas such as stairwells, basement corridors, or garages.

*In Sweden, the weeks begin on a Monday and end on a Sunday. Each week is given a number. For example, the first week of the year is week 1, and the last week of the year is week 52. Therefore, an 'even week' is a week with an even number. Many online calendars can be adjusted to show week numbers, or you can look this up online.

Private individuals can bring bulky waste free of charge using their own vehicle, up to approximately 3 cubic meters per visit. Building waste may also be left here. For a map and opening hours, see: https://www.sorab.se/start/hushall/besok-en-avc/
